Dig up our past

Students at Palisades Elementary prepare the soil, plant the seeds, watch the growth and harvest their crops. Take a look at the results.


1st grade students grew plants and sold them at Open House. They then reinvested the money in the garden by purchasing a wheelbarrow, some other garden tools and a few garden related children’s books.


Students grew pumpkins and auctioned them off at Yee Haw Days


First grade students planted an herb garden that included chamomile (shown), sage, parsley, thyme, chives, mint, lemon grass, dill, cilantro, and rose geranium. The herbs were used in cooking projects and also to make herbal tea bags.


Third grade students planted a Native American garden that included squash (shown), tomatoes, grapes, sunflowers, garlic, onions and chiles.
