Support PEP - "Fun"raising Opportunities

Through the extraordinary efforts of parents like you, PEP consistently raises well over $500,000 each year to provide essential enrichment activities to our students and vital resources to our teachers.  From class size reduction and instructional aides to computer lab, music class, drama and P.E., PEP is dedicated to giving our children a wonderfully enriched learning environment. These programs cost PEP around $1,000 per student.

Since there are scores of PEP fundraising events and activities, and since your involvement is crucial to their success, we'd like to outline all the ways you can help PEP raise the money needed to sustain and grow Pali's enrichment programs.

For more information about fundraising, be sure to check out the PEP fundraising handbook

All donations to PEP are tax-deductible.

PaliGala
This fun PEP event, the annual Spring PaliGala, takes place on a Saturday evening in early Spring.  This event offers the opportunity to join the Pali faculty, staff and parents in stepping out for a fabulous night of dinner and dancing. During cocktail hour, guests can mingle while bidding on items available in the silent auction. After an elegant sit-down dinner, a professional auctioneer kicks off the exciting live auction.

ONLINE AUCTION: Pali families can participate in the online auction that runs for two weeks prior to the PaliGala event.  From the comfort of your home, you can peruse the online auction catalog and bid on hundreds of wide-ranging items from camps to your kids, restaurants, jewelry and lots more.

Pali Giving
PEP's largest and biggest fundraiser is a donation drive that launches early in the fall. We invite all Pali families to cover the cost of their children's education by contributing at least $1,000 per child.  Many families donate more, many donate less. We encourage families who are able to invest in our school give at a Silver Level of $1,250 per student; at a Gold Level of $2,750 per family; or at a Platinum Level of $5,000 per family. However, the primary goal is for all families to participate.

Party on Pali
What is more fun then a party? The Party on Pali committee organizes parties and outings, which are hosted by members of the school community and other generous donors. Parents and students pay to attend these exciting events where you mingle with other Pali families - a great "fun" raiser for our school.

Scrip
Scrip is a Pali program that sells gift cards and gift certificates at school.  Retailers sell school groups, such as PEP, gift cards and certificates at face value. The cards are redeemable for face value (you can buy $25 worth of merchandise for your $25 gift card).  Then, the retailer donates a percentage of of each card sold to PEP.  The donation percentages vary, but average around 6%.

RALPHS and VONS: Ralphs and Vons have their own programs where they make donations to schools.   All you need to do is link your Ralphs and Vons loyalty cards to PEP (through the Ralphs and Vons websites). A percentage of every purchase when you swipe your loyalty card will automatically go to PEP.  NOTE:  Your loyalty card needs to be linked EACH AND EVERY year.  Links do not carry over from year to year.  If the bottom of your receipt doesn't say "Thank you for supporting Palisades Enrichment Programs" then you are not linked.  These programs, combined with scrip, account for nearly 5% of PEP's budget. So, please get your friends and family to join as well.

Magazine Drive
Held each Fall, the magazine drive is an opportunity to raise money by selling magazines to friends and family. Also available for sale are wrapping paper, a variety of chocolates and other goodies, a great selection of gifts for the holidays, restaurant.com gift certificates, and more.  Prizes are awarded to children based on their level of sales.

Book Fair
Each Spring, the Book Fair comes to town and sets up shop in our school library.  A broad range of books, and crafts are available for sale.  The children are given an opportunity to window shop at the fair and write up their wish lists for you.

Yee Haw County Fair
Yee Haw County Fair is a family festival with inflatables (like bounce houses), game booths, food, and, of course, prizes.  True to its name, the festival has a Wild West theme.  The festival is open to the public, which makes it a great community building activity.  It is held on the school grounds on a Saturday in the Fall.

Bingo Night
Everybody loves bingo.  A great family event where our own Pali teachers volunteer their time to call out the numbers.  .  You can play as many cards as you like!  This event is typically held one evening in Winter.

Ice Cream Social
Our beautifully maintained garden behind the Library is called the Lori Petrick garden in memory of a former Pali Elementary teacher.  Each year, our Pali teachers organize and host an ice cream social in the Spring to raise money to support the garden's maintenance and upkeep.  Though not a PEP fundraiser, PEP whole-heartedly supports this event and encourages you to attend.

Walk(Jog)-a-thon
Each Spring, PEP hosts a walk/jog-a-thon around the school track.  Each grade gets 15 minutes of "track-time".  Students are timed to see how many times they can walk/run around the track.  After their laps, the children are treated to well-deserved cold Popsicles.    As the final fundraiser of the year, this is a perfect opportunity to have your children ask your neighbors, friends and family to support our school.   Students can be sponsored per lap or at a flat rate, and can earn rewards (like a Panda Express Lunch) based money raised. This is a fun, healthy event and an important fundraiser for PEP.
