A Change In Pick-Up?
What if your child has a play date after school with a classmate? What if Grandpa is taking care of the kids for the week and will be doing pick up while you are off on a remote island somewhere sipping a fruity cocktail? Students need to arrive at school with a firm plan for dismissal having been decided and communicated to all parties.
The only people that can pick up your child are those listed on his or her emergency card. If you would like to add a person/s to your emergency card, you will have to come in person to amend the emergency card with this information. This must be prior to needing these people for dismissal assistance. If the name is not listed, we can't release the child. Please be proactive!
If someone other than a person on the emergency card (i.e.. grandparent, another parent for a play date, etc.) will be picking up your child, you must write a note to the teacher and put it in your child’s “take home folder” and return it to school. Some teachers will accept emails, so check with your child's teacher regarding email deadlines for a change in your normal pick up routine.
Whether it be emailing, writing a note or calling the school office (in the case of an unexpected change), you MUST do so BEFORE 11:00am. As a school community, we need to lessen the number of calls per day so that the office can attend to other important matters. Any changes to pick up after 11:00am are for emergency situations only and will result in the child either waiting in the school office until someone already on their emergency card can pick them up or being dismissed to Beyond the Bell (if eligible and enrolled).
